Mi experiencia en BYTE
Grace, oriunda de Phoenix, es una estudiante de Literatura Española en la Universidad de Arizona, quien colabora con BYTE realizando un interinato. Dentro de sus actividades se encuentran crear publicaciones en las redes sociales, así como ser facilitadora en Cinenautas, taller de cine para niñas y niños, el cual se imparte en línea.

Cuando pienso en las clases que he tomado en el pasado y los libros que he leído, puedo ahora relacionarlos con mi experiencia en mi pasantía con BYTE. Una clase que estoy tomando ahora se llama “Children 's Literature in Spanish”, donde estoy aprendiendo sobre la literatura infantil en el mundo hispano. Es muy interesante porque hay muchos componentes de la literatura infantil que nunca había notado, como los diferentes niveles de lectura o el tipo de contenido que es apropiado para una comunidad estudiantil. Mi conocimiento de la manera en que una comunidad estudiantil desarrolla sus habilidades (en los diferentes niveles de lectura) ahora tiene más sentido para mí, porque en la clase de cine que imparto en BYTE para niñas y niños, la narración es también un componente muy importante. Es así que puedo aplicar mi conocimiento de qué es una obra artística, o cuál es el nivel de lectura apropiado para la comunidad estudiantil en nuestra clase de cine, y eso me hace una maestra más preparada.
Esta pasantía está influyendo en mi trayectoria profesional de una manera muy positiva. Antes de esta pasantía nunca había pensado que tenía las habilidades de hablar y enseñar en otro idioma, de trabajar en otro país, y ahora estoy trabajando en dos países al mismo tiempo: Estados Unidos y México, y disfruto mucho la oportunidad de colaborar para una organización binacional como BYTE. Esta experiencia me ha llevado a pensar que en el futuro me gustaría trabajar en otra país o para una empresa internacional. Estoy muy emocionada por ver mis logros reflejados en mi trayectoria profesional como resultado de mi experiencia con BYTE.

My Experience with BYTE

When I think about the classes that I have taken in the past and the books that I have read, I am able to relate them with my experience during my internship with BYTE. One class that I am taking now is called “Children 's Literature in Spanish”, in which I am learning about children’s literature in the Spanish world. It is very interesting because there are many components of children’s literature that I had never noticed before, such as different reading levels or the type of content that is appropriate for a student community. My knowledge of the way in which a student community develops their skills (in the different reading levels) now makes more sense to me, because in the BYTE film class narration is also a very important component. It is in this way that I am able to apply my knowledge of an artistic work or the reading level that is appropriate for the student community in our film class, and this has made me a much more prepared teacher.
This internship has influenced my professional career in a very positive way. Before this internship, I had never thought that I had the skills to speak and teach in another language or to work in another country. Now, I am working in two countries at the same time: the United States and Mexico. I have very much enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with a binational organization like BYTE. This experience has led me to think that in the future I would like to work in another country or for an international business. I am very excited to see my goals reflected in my professional career as a result of my experience with BYTE.
