Creating a Safe Place...

Giving kids a safe place to go after school is an issue no matter what part of the world you are in. However, in border communities it's particularly important. The impact that policies on both sides of the border have on families requires a lot of parents to work longer hours, placing an increased importance on supervision and support.

BYTE acts as a hub for kids and the community. We work with amazing partners to provide access to under-resourced communities in both the U.S. and Mexico. These are some of the stories of where BYTE kids come from, and why the need our help...

Casa Hogar Madre Conchita

Casa Hogar functions not as an institution but as a large home for orphaned or abused girls. BYTE works with Casa Hogar to give the girls a safe place to play, learn and meet kids they would never have had an opportunity to before.

Boys and Girls Club of Nogales

On the U.S. side, the situation is similar. Partners like the Boys and Girls Club Santa Cruz County provide direct access to kids who can benefit from innovative opportunities. BYTE is a featured activity at the Club and they use our curriculums and team to help achieve their goals of growing leaders and success stories on what many see as a barren patch of desert.

This is What BYTE Means to the Kids...

"I'm really glad BYTE came along because it's a really nice activity and around here kids have nothing to do."  Our mission is to give kids a safe place to learn and grow, and for us that's more rewarding than anything else in the world.
